Trends on the web

As I mentioned before on the blog, I find trends fascinating.
A few months ago, you would have heard me say that trends were kind of superficial, but the module 2 of the e-course of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design really changed my point of view. There is a whole great world behind trends, and learning where to spot them and how to use them is one of the most interesting things I learned lately.

Struggling with colors

Colors have always been a hard subject for me, for many reasons: I don’t really know how to use them in my work, I can’t buy a colorful piece of clothing (my wardrobe is only black, grey and white, oh and the blue from my pairs of jeans, and without any patterns), I often see them as kitsch when it comes to furniture or home decor… All those things put together suggesting that surface pattern design is not really made for me, working with colors being a huge part of it.
